Travis Scott
The artist who took his hometown of Houston by storm. Travis Scott first became well-known in 2010 for his half Auto-Tune/half singing style. After he co-produced and featured in the Kanye West album “GOOD MUSIC CRUEL SUMMER”, he started to release his own singles one after the other, and in 2015 he released his solo album “RODEO”, which was followed by “BIRDS IN THE TRAP SING MCKNIGHT” in 2016 and by the better-known “ASTROWORLD” in 2018. In addition to his three albums, he has also featured in many hit songs, including “BITCH BETTER HAVE MY MONEY”, “SZA” and “PORTLAND”.
Travis Scott grew up in Houston and started to make music as a teenager after he had dropped out of college and moved to Los Angeles. After he started to make his own music, he met rapper T.I. and was quickly hired as the producer for “GOOD music” (Kanye West record company).
Houston awarded him the Key to the City for his huge impact on the city and for his ASTROWORLD concerts. If you want to learn more about Travis Scott and his ASTROWORLD tour, there is a documentary about both, currently available on Netflix.
As well as being an influential artist, Travis Scott has also greatly influenced the fashion world, most recently with a collaboration with NIKE for whom he designed sneakers and clothes. His sneakers have generated a huge amount of hype and the newest silhouettes that he has designed generate sky-high resale prices.
